Expressing a discomfort with the stereotypes surrounding the female body—often fueled by the media—this collage series takes a firm stance against unrealistic depictions of bodily form. Through this series, the viewer is invited to reconsider the female body and question prevailing societal perceptions of the ideal physique.

In this work, the conceptual foundation takes precedence over the images themselves. The core element initiating the production process is the social domination and codes built upon the female body, as the primary pressures women face are most frequently shaped through their physical forms. This oppression and feeling of confinement imposed on the female body are conveyed by stripping away the patriarchal gaze and ordinary aesthetic concerns. Examining the mechanisms of social control and oppression over the body, this collage series renders this sense of limitation visible and explicit through the use of gold-gilded frames.
